Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Allie Johnston moved to Grand Junction after graduating from Washington State University. She moved here for a job in mixed animal medicine and due to her love of outdoor recreation. While working in general practice she developed a love for urgent/emergency cases as well as surgery and made the switch to emergency medicine. Dr. Johnston came on full time at the Animal ER of the Western Slope because of the amazing team of people she gets to work with everyday, and her desire to work at a locally owned hospital. When not working, she loves to get outside with her partner Kevin and her two dogs, Lulu, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and Charlie, a Border Collie. She loves whitewater rafting, mountain biking, downhill and cross country skiing, and biking downtown to drink cocktails. She can also be found watching reality TV and knitting with two cats she rescued from work, Moira and Goose.
